“Firewall” Announced!

Author David Mack has announced that he is currently working on writing a new Star Trek: Picard novel, titled “Firewall”. He has been developing the book “for some time now,” in his own words. The book is scheduled for publication by Pocket Books on 27 February 2024.
Mack described the plot of his forthcoming novel: “Set a couple of years after Voyager’s return from the Delta Quadrant, it tells the story of young Seven of Nine, having been denied a place in Starfleet, venturing alone into the galaxy to find her own identity and purpose in life. Her journey leads her to enlist in the rogue law-enforcement corps known as the Fenris Rangers — but embracing her new destiny might mean sacrificing the most important thing in her life: her friendship with Kathryn Janeway.”
Mack is presently midway through writing the manuscript, which will take shape before further edits. “I think it’s going to be something really good,” he predicted, describing the narrative as “a coming-of-age story as well as an adventure.”
Unless the publishers at Pocket Books change their minds, this will also be Mark’s first official hardcover publication. There were a few hardcover copies of his novel The Midnight Front, though that was officially a trade paperback book.
The upcoming Star Trek: Picard novel Firewall is available for pre-order from Amazon.com here.
